Hairstyles of the Grammys
Today, February 8th, is the 57th Annual Grammy Awards being held in The Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.
The Grammys isn’t just a platform for music artists to win and be nominated for awards, but it’s also a platform for fashion. Every single artist comes glammed up: wearing designer dresses (that really only they can afford, although I believe they probably don’t even pay for them…), getting dolled up with beautiful make-up, and revealing new hair-dos and hairstyles (even some hair-don’ts).
Some notable hairstyles from artists, performers, nominees, and Grammy winners while on the red carpet are:
Ariana Grande, who showed up with her boo, Big Sean. Her hair was basically the way it always is; in a high pony tail. So that wasn’t something all that exciting:
Zendaya ditched her long locks she normally wears and went for a short pixie cut:
Jhené Aiko, (my current favorite R&B artist) wore her black hair in a short straight bob, with curls on one side and a side part:
Nicki Minaj rocked her natural hair, slicked back from the side:
Beyoncé hit the red carpet with long golden-brown wavy hair, parted in the middle:
Rihanna appeared on the red carpet at the very last minute, wearing a poofy pink gown with her hair in a small bun to the back – which is something I was not expecting at all. (The dress or the hair!) Especially after seeing pictures of her gorgeous hair on the Pre-Grammys Brunch with Roc Nation, and rehearsal for her performance with Kanye West and Paul McCartney. This was just a major disappointment to me:
I mean, Rihanna looked beautiful, but it just wasn’t what I was expecting.
Ciara came through with her hair long, black, and slicked back as well, in a gorgeous black high-low dress:
Lady Gaga wore her hair long, wavy, and silver:
Chris Brown decided to cover his blue hair (which seems to be fading into green and blonde) with a burgundy-colored hat. (Now, I’m no fan of the blue hair, but I’m just wondering why he’d cover it?)
Taylor Swift wore a beautiful turquoise/blue high-low dress (with purple shoes, I don’t seem to understand why) and her hair was straight, with some curls curled inward, and windswept bangs:
Jennifer Hudson rocked a black pixie cut, with a white dress:
Ashanti hit the red carpet with her hair in a high slicked-back pony tail:
These are just a few of the many hairstyles from the 57th Annual Grammy Awards I happened to come across. It seems like 2015 is the year of pixie cut, as well as the year of the long; black; slicked-back hair.
